Masticatory Tract Rehabilitation and TMD Disorders - Diagnosis, Treatment and What Next? Can We Predict Everything?

The process of the masticatory organ treatment in complicated cases requires so-called complex rehabilitation. That can be made only by a team of doctors of various specializations, hygienists, assistants and dental technicians involved in the process. This process often takes many months or even years and, sure, requires considerable financial expenses from the patients. After such a long and expensive treatment, patients expect the effect of the treatment will last “forever”, and that the aesthetics and functioning of the reconstructed dentition will last for years as well. Is it possible? Can the effect after restoration of a lost function of the masticatory organ be stable for the patients? What complications can we expect, taking into account, the condition of the patient before the treatment and type of the treatment? We will consider these issues during the lecture and,at least, partly indicate which complications we should be prepared for and how to minimize the probability of their occurrence.
